Exciting Paid Internship Opportunity at DRDO’s DIPR, Delhi!

Are you a bright, final-year student in Psychology or Computer Science & Engineering looking for a hands-on research experience? The Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), a premier laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is inviting applications for its Paid Internship Scheme. Internship Details:

• Host Institute: Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), DRDO.
• Location: DIPR, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054.
• Duration: The internship is for a fixed tenure of 06 months.
• Stipend: Interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5000/-. The total stipend of Rs. 30,000/- for the entire duration will be paid in two equal installments of Rs. 15,000/-; the first after 3 months and the second after 6 months of internship completion, as per DRDO guidelines. Note that the first installment is only disbursed after successfully completing the initial three months.
• Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 15 days attendance in a month is required to complete the internship.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria):

DIPR is looking for meritorious and highly deserving students. To be eligible, you must be:

• Pursuing your final year of Post Graduation in Psychology (PSY).
  • Number of Vacancies: 06.
• Pursuing your final year of Under Graduation (B.Tech/BE) in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE).
  • Number of Vacancies: 02.
• Candidates must be pursuing a full-time course from a recognized Indian University/Institute.
• A minimum of 60% marks is essential.
• Applicants should have a good academic track record.

1. Prepare your Application:

   • Fill out the prescribed PROFORMA FOR APPLICATION OF INTERNSHIP AT DIPR, DRDO (available in the source document).
   • Enclose a brief Bio-data (less than 300 words), highlighting your achievements.
   • Mention any awards or professional memberships.
   • Include a copy of your CGPA (on a scale of 10).
   • Crucially, a Referral Letter from the Principal/Director of your college/institution is MANDATORY. This letter should be on college letterhead, signed by the Principal/Director, stating that you are a bonafide and meritorious student and requesting the internship opportunity. It should also confirm that the college has “No Objection” to your internship and will relieve you.
   • Affix your latest passport size photo.

2. Addressing the Envelope:

   • Clearly mention “Application for Paid Internship” on the top of the envelope.
   • Address it to: “Director, Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), DRDO, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi-110054.” (Kind Attn: – To Admin Section DIPR)

Important Dates (Tentative):

• Last date for receipt of application: 25th July 2025.
• Information to students regarding interaction/selection: 29th July 2025.
• Date of Start for Internship Training: 01 August 2025.

Selection Procedure:

Selection will be based on merit and an interaction over Video Conference (VC) or Telephone. Only shortlisted students will be notified about the joining procedures, undertaking forms, and indemnity bonds.

What to Expect & Important Considerations:

• Completion Certificate: A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the 06-month internship, which includes satisfactory evaluation of project work, submission of the project report, and completion of other formalities. No certificate will be issued if a student is unable to complete the full tenure or leaves midway.
• Accommodation & Food: No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible. Interns will have to arrange their own accommodation, conveyance, and food. However, selected candidates can avail of subsidized lunch, tea, snacks, etc., at the Institute’s food canteen.
• Employment Guarantee: Completion of this internship does not guarantee employment in DRDO, nor can an intern claim a right for employment based on its completion.
• Documents Required at Joining: Selected students must submit several documents at the time of joining, including:
  • Original No Objection Certificate (NOC) from college authorities.
  • Police Verification Report from a local police station.
  • Medical Fitness Certificate from an authorized MBBS degree holder.
  • Undertakings for adherence to the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923, and Ministry of Defence IT rules and regulations.
  • An undertaking stating that the intern is not receiving/being paid for any other internship.
  • Bank details for stipend payment.
  • Original Aadhar card and college ID card for verification.
  • Three passport-size photographs.
  • Original marks sheets from all previous semesters for verification.
  • An Indemnity Form from the college, if required by DIPR.
  • Note: Police Verification Report and Medical Certificate/Fitness Certificate must be emailed to admindipr.dipr@gov.in before the joining date, with originals submitted upon joining.
• Rules & Regulations: Failure to comply with DRDO-DIPR rules and regulations or any breach of security provisions will lead to immediate termination of the internship without notice.
