SERB SPONSORED ONE WEEK HIGH-END WORKSHOP ON MATERIALS ENGINEERING IN WEARABLE DEVICES
SMart and Innovative Laboratory for Energy devices and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram, Chennai, India. Jointly Organizing SERB sponsored one-week high-end workshop on materials engineering in wearable devices, from July 28 – August 04, 2022. The program will be in the Physical mode.
About the Program
Wearables are devices that can be worn as accessories, embedded in the apparel, or implanted in the body. Wearable technology has invaded our day-to-day lives owing to its miniaturization. They provide great opportunities for clinical research, early disease prediction, and healthcare management. Micro- and nanomaterials play a significant role in the development of wearable devices. Most research in this field relied on exploiting rigid electronics in the semiconductor industry. However, recent focus has shifted to wearable sensing platforms, utilizing materials ranging from fabrics to 3D printed flexible electronics. These advancements hold a promising potential solution to the longstanding trade-off between performance and fabrication costs for wearable devices. In view of this, a program on ‘Material Engineering in Wearable devices’ is expected to benefit the faculty and scholars from engineering and science institutions, and researchers from research labs, to broaden their knowledge and hands-on utilization of materials for wearable technology.

- Last date of registration: 18.07.2022 Selected participants will be informed through email. However, selected Ph.D/P.G students should provide the NOC from the supervisor or HOD of the respective institution.
- The proposed workshop is meant to support motivated PG and PhD level students, who are having a strong willingness to get excellence in their scientific and engineering research pursuits in the area of Wearable Devices
- The workshop will be conducted in face-face mode.
- Participants willing to participate in this workshop should have the provision to stay in the institute premises and accommodation will be provided free of cost.
- Course Registration is free for all participants
- Seats are limited (only 20) and the participants are selected by organizers on a first come first serve basis.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed through their email.
- On completion of the course, an objective/quiz-based assessment of all participants will be done
- TA will be provided to all the participants by producing the tickets with the shortest route as per the norms.
