School of Management studies, REVA University, is organizing a 7-days Virtual Faculty Development program from 16 Aug to 22 Aug 2021 on the topic of  “Writing & Publishing quality research paper”. The three resource persons are of high reputation in the management Research field.

The participants will learn the crucial topics like Theoretical model development, hypothesis development, reference management, choice of statistical tool, reducing plagiarism etc throughout the FDP. After attending this FDP the participants will be able to demonstrate skills of good academic writing and publishing paper in SCOPUS/ABDC indexed journals.

 

About the FDP

Academia and Industry is going through a dynamic shift towards a more interactive approach to its stakeholders. The change requires quality research integration in academic activities. Writing a research paper needs to show a strong understanding of concern subject, engage with a range of sources, and make an initial addition to the argument. Many researchers/academicians/industry professional finds are difficult to writing & publishing quality research papers. This 7-days Faculty Development program it initiated to develop a broad understanding of the research writing and qualities for good publication

Objectives of FDP

  1. To impart a brief understanding of systematic literature review for conceptualisation and operationalisation of research topic.
  2. To enable the idea about the formulation of hypothesis and choosing an appropriate theoretical background.
  3. To make participants familiar with sampling, research instruments and statistical tools.
  4. To help participants inefficient writing of research articles and finding the right journal to publish.

About STTP

Water bodies are an essential part of the ecosystem providing a diversity of values and uses ranging from ecological goods and services to direct production values. They have traditionally served the function of meeting water requirements of the people for drinking, household uses like washing, for agriculture, fishing and also for religious and cultural purposes. Apart from these functions, which involve direct use of the water, lakes are known to recharge ground water, channelize water flow to prevent water logging and flooding. Lakes also host to a wide variety of flora and fauna. They are vital in the hydrological severe conditions like drought and floods; they influence the micro-climate as well as enhance the aesthetic beauty of the landscape and offer various recreational opportunities. The quality of water resources is deteriorating rapidly due to man-made and environmental aspects. There is an urgent need to initiate efforts to restore, conserve, manage and maintain the water bodies as an integral part of the whole ecosystem.

Water treatment and restoration of water bodies are the fundamentals for establishing sustainable water resources. It is imperative that the Students and Faculties in Civil Engineering must develop an understanding of latest trends in these areas and are exposed to current technologies and innovations in this regard. The platform will be a means to promote the development and restoration of water bodies to provide equitable access to water and sanitation for everyone thereby contributing to the progressive realization of the human right to water and sanitation.

The two-week workshop, aims to address this burning issue by bringing forth students, academicians, research scholars and industrialists and conduct brain-storming sessions under a common roof. Thus, the prominent objectives of this workshop are as follows

  1. To have an insight of integrated, comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach on the process of Water treatment and Restoration of water bodies.
  2. To motivate students to develop innovative technologies in the field of wastewater treatment and restoration of water bodies, thereby making some positive contribution towards the betterment of the city, state and the nation at large.
  3. To have an overview of the challenges faced on field by environmental consultancy organizations regarding the same.
  4. To apprehend the participants with the aesthetics of greener wastewater treatment and environmental analytics for construction projects

The NEP 2020 is ambitious, robust and futuristic but much of its success will depend on how it is executed from school education to higher education including its filo centric approach. In the higher education system, the policy adopts an integrated yet flexible approach to education at the undergraduate level emphasizing the need for liberal education for preparing students to navigate their way into the future with a variety of employment scenarios as well as many other roles they will play in their professions. Further, the policy stresses on the importance of having a multi-disciplinary environment at higher education institutions.  There is a need to create awareness about NEP amongst teachers, students, officials, and other stakeholders in the higher education system so that we can together help India in becoming a knowledge superpower.

Therefore this QIP is being organized with a view to focus on its various aspects, changes, and recommendations with the challenges of its implementation. This QIP is intended to include the roles of various stakeholders in general and teachers in particular for the attainment of the objectives of the new education policy in all the areas of education. All the areas as higher education and quality improvement, higher education and research related activities, higher education and teachers’ training and promotion, higher education and teaching-learning pedagogy, higher education and use of cutting edge technology will be covered with an aim to enhance and improve the qualitative aspects of all the areas into consideration. A half-an hour question answer session after each session will be an added platform to interact and enhance the understanding of the participants on various issues pertaining to higher education.

Course Overview and Objective

The  growing   incidence  of  chronic  and   infectious diseases  has  motivated  the  development  of  the  in vitro diagnostics    (IVD)    market IVD tests    are quintessential   for   diagnosis,   prognosis,   treatment and  monitoring  the  progression  of  a  disease.  The development  of  advanced  diagnostic  platforms  aims to  provide  faster,  smaller,  and  more  cost-effective tools that facilitate more precise diagnosis and point-of-care  testing.  This  training  programme  is  focused on the theme of “Advancements in in vitro diagnostic methods in healthcare” with the prime objective to provide  knowledge  and  technical  exposure  towards new tools/methods to support disease diagnosis with special  emphasis  on  in  vitro  diagnostics.  With  this course,  the  organizers  wish  to  transmit  and  share their    own    experience    in    this    area    with    the participants    in    order     to    provide    a    holistic understanding of IVD methods for better health. This  training  course  aims  to  impart  training  on  the IVD   platforms   presently   being   used   for   disease detection. The advancement in diagnostic methodologies  may  recline  in  choice  of  platform used,   sensing   technologies,   reducing   sample-to-answer  time  and  cost  of  assay.  In  this  context, expert     lectures     from     scientists     may     cover advancements    in    areas    like    point    of    care diagnostics, mobile healthcare, lab-on-chip technologies; RT-PCR based molecular diagnostics, nanotechnology    in    diagnostics, and    emerging technologies   like   smartphone   or   IoT   (internet   of things) for mobile healthcare
