ICSSR Sponsored Free Ten Days ‘Research Methodology Course for Scholars in Social Sciences from 19th to 28th February 2025 Offline Mode

Objective of the Workshop:
The main objective behind this Workshop is to give exposure on research methodology and data analysis to M.Phil./Ph.D./PDF Research Scholars. The programme will focus on foundations of quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods of research. In addition to dealing with philosophical and theoretical aspects of social science research, the workshop proposes to deliberate with the participants on aspects of defining research problems, framing research questions, formulation of hypothesis, exploring data sources, review of literature, data collection methods and tools, data analysis techniques, various aspects related with report writing and article publication tips in social sciences. It is also envisaged to provide an orientation with relation to use of important statistical methods in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data

Pedagogy:
Different topics of research methodology shall be taught through different pedagogical tools like lectures, hands-on training on computer software, assignments to write research proposal, designing instrument for data collection, Article Preparation, Publications and field work for data collection. The participants will be required to make presentations and submit a report at the end of the workshop.

Probability Sampling, Data Collection Tools, Web Tools in Research ,Grounded Theory & Case Studies, Report Writing/Thesis Writing , Tool Standardization, Ethnographic Research, Variables and Types of Variables, Research Paper Writing, Plagiarism in Research, Issues in
Research Field work, References and Citations, Book Publication & Journal Publication, Ethics in Research, Plagiarism in research, Computer Applications in Social Science Research, Basic Statistics and MS-Excel and SPSS, Library & e-library training, Use of Data in Social Science Research

Eligibility Criteria:
Young researchers who are pursuing their M.Phil. /Ph.D. / PDF. Programme in Social Sciences in universities or research institutions are eligible to apply.

Workshop Timings:
09:30 A.M – 4.30 P.M (Total 30 Sessions including Field Trip)

Registration Fee:
There is no registration fee for the Workshop.

Number of Seats:
Number of seats is limited to 30 (Thirty) {(10 Out station +10 within the state + 10 within the campus)} only

Offline Mode only
Requirements for the Workshop:
Laptop with good Internet speed and necessary data pack are compulsory.

How to Apply:
1) Candidates desiring to attend the Research Methodology Workshop have to fill the requisite Application Form attached below and submit to the Course Director through Google Form & Email (Soft Copy) only. A copy of Recent Bio-Data also has to be submitted along with the application form.
2) The applications should be forwarded by the Head/ Dean/ Research Supervisor of the Institution/University of the concerned applicant.
3) Applicants have to submit a note highlighting the present status of their research work duly recommended by the Supervisor, a copy of the Registration certificate, a synopsis/note on their research work along with their applications.
4) Sample draft Article Soft copy (Should bring if selected)
5) It may be noted that selection will be done as per ICSSR Guidelines. All the requisite details (Application Form+ Bio data +Forwarding Letter + Status of Research Works + Registration Certificate +P.G. Mark Sheet) in Single PDF (convert all the files in single PDF file) should be upload in the Google Form (https://forms.gle/D54EFhLuTcbzpb6X9 ) and also same can be sent by email to:nuicssrworkshop@gmail.com

Accommodation & Travel Allowance:
Accommodation arrangements shall be made for outstation participants on a twin- sharing basis in the Hostels / Guest House. Travel costs of outstation participants shall be reimbursed only for second class/sleeper class/bus fare (Maximum Rs.1000).
