AICTE-AU Sponsored STTP on Compiler Design

Center for Faculty Development Anna University Chennai is organizing AICTE-AU Sponsored Short Term Training Program on Compiler Design Scheduled from 19th Jan to 25th Jan 2022

OBJCTIVES

This AICTE-AU Short Term Training Program is intended to provide opportunity for teachers employed in AICTE approved Institutions for teaching and upgrading their knowledge in the area of Compiler Engineering. This program will be useful for those who are involved in teaching Compiler Design at UG / PG level. This will also provide

a basic platform for a faculty who are willing to carry out research in Theoretical computer Science. The fundamental concepts of these mechanisms will be introduced. However, our main focus will be on Compiler Design based on the B.Tech(IT) syllabus of Anna University.

A compiler is a special program that processes statements written in a particular programming language and turns them into machine language or “code” that a computer’s processor uses. Study of Compilers benefit tremendously from careful analysis of a problem and from tools for performing that analysis. Study of Compilers enable the

programmers to design and implement their own domain specific language. It gives a good feeling for how larger programs can be broken down and solved in a manner that is not adhoc. Important topics to be covered in Compiler Design through this STTP is specified below:

• Structure of Compilers
• Role of Lexical Analysis
• Finite Automata
• Regular Expressions to Automata
• Context Free Grammars
• Parsing, Top down and Bottom up parsers

• Syntax Directed Translation
• Type Checking

• Run Time Environment and Code Generation

• Code Optimization
• Data Flow Analysis
• Compiler Construction Tools

Eligibility

Faculty of IT, CSE, and MCA departments, who have some basic knowledge in IT can apply. Young faculty members from affiliated engineering colleges coming under the purview of Anna University, Chennai will be given preference.

 Registration

Free for the participants.

Registration is limited to 100 participants.

  Selection is based on early registration policy.

No TA/DA will be paid.
