A National Level 8 Day QIP on NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020: India’s Education 4.0 for Futuristic Growth

A National Level 8 Day Quality Improvement Programme (QIP) on the topic “NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020: India’s Education 4.0 for Futuristic Growth” is organized by Renuka College, Besa, Nagpur in collaboration with Yashoda Girls’ College of Arts & Commerce Nagpur, Manoharrao Kamdi Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, Dayanand Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur, Women’s College of Arts & Commerce, Nagpur. The event is scheduled to be held from Sunday 11th July to Sunday, 18th July 2021 at 5 – 7 PM

The NEP 2020 is ambitious, robust and futuristic but much of its success will depend on how it is executed from school education to higher education including its filo centric approach. In the higher education system, the policy adopts an integrated yet flexible approach to education at the undergraduate level emphasizing the need for liberal education for preparing students to navigate their way into the future with a variety of employment scenarios as well as many other roles they will play in their professions. At post graduate level, the policy envisages to have strong research component to strengthen the appropriate professional competence in the domain area, and to prepare students to contribute concretely in the development of the nation. Further, the policy stresses on the importance of having a multi-disciplinary environment at higher education institutions.  There is a need to create awareness about NEP amongst teachers, students, officials, and other stakeholders in the higher education system so that we can together help India in becoming a knowledge superpower.

Therefore this QIP is being organized with a view to focus on its various aspects, changes, and recommendations with the challenges of its implementation. This QIP is intended to include the roles of various stakeholders in general and teachers in particular for the attainment of the objectives of the new education policy in all the areas of education. All the areas as higher education and quality improvement, higher education and research related activities, higher education and teachers’ training and promotion, higher education and teaching-learning pedagogy, higher education and use of cutting edge technology will be covered with an aim to enhance and improve the qualitative aspects of all the areas into consideration. A half-an hour question answer session after each session will be an added platform to interact and enhance the understanding of the participants on various issues pertaining to higher education.

Objectives of the QIP:

  • To understand the nuances of NEP 2020 in the present perspective.
  • To establish a robust quality circles to achieve the status of India Education 4.0.
  • To get acquainted with the intricacies of NEP 2020 with a view to addressing the gaps in implementation.
  • To establish a common corridor of achieving quality initiatives and sustainable goals to pave way for NEP 2020 recommendations.
  • To explore the innovative ideas in Higher education towards making India a superpower in the next 20 years.

Outcome of the QIP:

  1. To inculcate the spirit of continuous improvement (KAIZEN) among all the stakeholders of higher education.
  2. To develop participants’ understanding of the issues related to NEP 2020 recommendations and challenges of implementation of the policy.
  3. To stimulate the stakeholders to work selflessly towards achieving the goals of NEP 2020.
  4. To understand the intricacies of the challenges to address the gaps and to overcome them positively
