Aim and Objectives of CBP
- The programme aims to provide training to young faculty members towards their capacity building in doing social science research. To achieve these goals, the Course will address issues i.e.
- Philosophical foundations of social science research.
- Provide an overview of the concepts and theories of research methodology used in scientific research, both quantitative and qualitative.
- Foster a comprehensive understanding among participants regarding the application of scientific research methodology.
- Key methodological shifts in research methods.
- Skills related to interpretation and analysis of gathered information/data.
- Develop a scientific understanding among participants about different tools and techniques used in research, relating them so their ongoing research.
- Contemporary trends and techniques in doing social science research.
- Writing, presenting, and publishing research work.
- Research tools and techniques for analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
- Enhance knowledge among participants regarding qualitative data analysis techniques
Major areas to be covered
- Philosophical Underpinnings of Social Research (Ontology-Epistemology Methodology Methods).
- Formulation of Problem in Social Research.
- Research concept, types, steps, and review of related literature.
- Variables, objectives, and hypothesis.
- Population, Sampling, and research tools.
- Quantitative Research Methods (Methods and their Nuances-Social Survey).
- Qualitative Research Methods (Methods and their Nuances Ethnography, Case Study, Content Analysis, Focused Group Discussion).
- Parametric and non-parametric tests in research.
- Use of Statistical Tests in Social Science Research.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation.
- Qualitative data analysis and triangulation
Eligibility Criteria
This course is exclusively for Young faculty of Higher Education Institutions. In – service young faculty preferably Lecturers / Assistant Professors in Social Science disciplines.
Intake
The intake for the course shall be a maximum of 30 (10 from local, 10 from Chhattisgarh state other than local, and 10 from outside the Chhattisgarh state) participants from social science disciplines.

- Those who have already attended any such program sponsored by ICSSR or any other sponsored organization should not apply.
- The selection to the course will be made as per ICSSR guidelines.
- No leave of any kind is permissible during the course period.
- Personal laptop with your own internet connectivity is compulsory
Registration Fees: There is no registration fee for the selected participants
Accommodation & Travel Allowance
- Accommodation will be provided to the outstation participants only.
- Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Refreshments for all participants will be served.
- Travel allowance by the shortest distance will be reimbursed to the outstation participants only as per the ICSSR guidelines and subject to the production of original tickets.
- No local conveyance would be reimbursed

Interested candidate can apply for the course by filling and submitting the registration form by attaching a signed and scanned copy of registration form (see last page) along with the following documents via email to icssrcbpggv2024@gmail.com. Hard copy of the original registration form and other documents should be produced on the first day of CBP.
