Assam University, Silchar invites applications from eligible young faculty members for a prestigious Two-Week (12 Days) Capacity Building Program (CBP) aimed at Social Sciences. Sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, this offline program is an excellent opportunity to master advanced research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing

This program is organized by the Department of Business Administration, Assam University (A Central University). It is designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to conduct rigorous research, effective dissemination of findings, and meaningful contribution to the field of social sciences.

You are eligible to apply if you are a Lecturer or Assistant Professor in a UGC-recognized Indian University, Deemed University, College, or Institute of National Importance.

Key Highlights & Financial Support One of the major benefits of this ICSSR-sponsored event is the financial support provided to selected candidates:
- No Registration Fee: The course is free for selected participants.
- Travel Allowance: Outstation candidates will be reimbursed train fare (up to Rs. 3000/-) by shortest route (2nd Class/Sleeper/AC III Tier). Note: Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Air fare is not admissible.
- Accommodation: Free boarding arrangements will be made for outstation participants on a shared room basis.
- Food: Local participants will be provided with lunch and tea/snacks.
- Career Advancement: This CBP is equivalent to a Refresher Course for CAS promotion.
Course Curriculum: What You Will Learn
- The workshop covers comprehensive themes ranging from fundamental concepts to advanced software applications:
- Research Foundations: Research types, methodological justice, and research design.
- Data Collection: Interview methods, questionnaire preparation, and innovative methods like case studies.
- Data Analysis Tools: Hands-on training on SPSS/SYSTAT, Regression, ANOVA, Factor Analysis, and Cluster Analysis.
- Academic Writing: Writing research proposals, theses, and research papers. The course includes a “Paper Clinic” to help you publish.
- Ethics & IPR: Plagiarism, Research Ethics, and Intellectual Property Rights.
