ICSSR Sponsored Ten-Days Research Methodology Course for Social Science Scholars, Kurukshetra University
The Department of Economics, Kurukshetra University, is pleased to announce an ICSSR-sponsored Ten-Days Research Methodology Course designed specifically for M.Phil., Ph.D., and PDF scholars in Social Sciences. This offline course aims to address the challenges emerging scholars face in accessing structured methodological training, thereby enhancing their potential for scholarly contributions.
Course Overview & Objectives: This comprehensive course, running from July 15th to 25th, 2025, is meticulously designed to equip participants with advanced research and academic writing skills. The program promises rigorous training essential for producing high-quality academic work.
Key Learning Areas & Pedagogy: Participants will receive in-depth training in critical aspects of research, including:
- Research design
- Data collection techniques
- Statistical analysis
- Academic writing
The course will employ a dynamic pedagogy featuring a combination of lectures, software-based hands-on sessions, group work, assignments, and field activities. Specific pedagogical tools will include computer-based data analysis, research proposal writing, questionnaire design and fieldwork, and presentations leading to the submission of a final report. Participants are required to bring their own laptops for the hands-on sessions.
Eligibility & Intake: The course is open to M.Phil./Ph.D./PDF scholars who are currently enrolled in UGC-recognized Universities/Colleges/Deemed Universities/Institutes of National Importance and ICSSR-recognized institutions. A maximum of 30 participants will be selected to ensure focused attention and interaction.

Financial Support & Benefits:
- No Registration Fee: There is no registration fee for the course.
- Accommodation: Outstation participants will be provided accommodation on a twin-sharing basis.
- Meals: All participants will receive breakfast, lunch, dinner, and refreshments during the course duration.
- Travel Allowance (TA): Travel allowance (for second/sleeper class train fare) will be reimbursed to outstation participants upon submission of original tickets, as per ICSSR guidelines.
Certification: Participants who successfully complete the course and fulfill all requirements, including attendance and assignments, will receive a certificate of participation.

- Bring the original hard copy of the registration form on the first day of the course.
Please note that merely registering for the course does not guarantee participation; the list of selected candidates will be communicated by June 30th, 2025. No leave will be permitted during the course duration.
